UNDATED (WCBI) – Twenty-four of the best high school basketball players in the state had their named called this week.
The 2014 Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen debuted this week, recognizing 12 of the best boys and girls high school basketball players in the state of Mississippi.
Two area boys names made the distinguished list: New Hope’s Shemar Johnson and Tupelo’s Antonio Green.
Green, a 6’1 guard for the Golden Wave, helped lead Tupelo to a strong season in 2013-14 and was a big part of Tupelo’s first appearance in the 6A State Championship game as a freshman back in 2012.
“There’s not much more you can say about Antonio Green,” Cronin said. “He’s a true shooter and he thrives on having the ball in his hands. His shot selection has really improved over the summer.” His 15.6 points per game led the Wave last season.
