Coach Hipsher was able to get three good D1 transfers his first year in Shaq Boga (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee), Javorn Farrell (UMass), & Shaun Noriega (University of South Florida). Boga played 61 games (2 years), scored 812 points, and averaged 13.3 pts/game. Stats Farrell played 28 games (1 year), scored 450 points, and averaged 16.1 pts/game. StatsNoriega, unfortunately, never fully recovered from his foot injury. He played in only 3 games, averaged 9.7 points and was 7-16 from 3-point for .438 PCT. Stats In Coach Hipsher's second year, he was able to sign Jonari Joesaar (Ole Miss), Adonis Rwabigwi (Furman University), Josh Butler (Louisiana Tech), and Ot Elmore (Virginia Military Institute). Joesaar's sophomore season (31 games), he scored 523 points for an average of 16.9 pts/game. StatsRwabigwi, Butler, and Elmore redshirted the season as per NCAA transfer rules. Here is a complete transfer list for 2015. ListLet's hope Coach Hipsher can find another Farrell or Joesaar type player that can play immediately and not have to sit out a year. Good luck, Coach!

That is new type of recruiting. Transfers? I think it should be an after thought. We need to recruit Texas much more imho. We are D-1. We are WAC, which sends champ to NCAA tourney automatically. We will be playing in a nice new arena also. Recruit hard and sell UTRGV it's a real good and beautiful university! It's a pretty good product moving ahead. Let's go Coach Hip and staff bring us some more help and if it then be a transfer, so be it ! I don't like the single hero type of offense. We need to spread out the scoring more. I already like Dixon. He can set up opposite side of Joesaar and receive ball after Joesaar drives and kicks out and nail 3 pointers and vice versa. GO VAQUEROS !
